Brenda Clemens' background began in the early 1960s with pony club and showing hunters. A few years later she began showing on the quarter horse circuit, then expanded to include showing on the Appaloosa circuit, followed by showing Paints and Reining horses in the 1990s.
Brenda's specialty is in western riding. She has multiple national championships and has qualified for the world. Brenda has placed in top 5 at The World Show.
In 1989, Barry and Brenda were married and the interest in cattle sparked. At the time, Barry was already a very accomplished roper and had shown successfully, having trained AQHA champions and many high-point awards, plus was a very respected trainer. In 1990, the Clemens family expanded their cattle interests to include Team Penning, something that had a special attraction for them, and that the whole family could do.
Working Cow Horses have become their latest passion and they plan to show some of Major Pepinic's progeny in cutting, cowhorse and reining.
Brenda continues to train and show horses from the futurity to the all around. As an example Rollie, seen left, Brenda riding over fences and at the bottom, on the right, is Brenda's son Taylor roping off of him.
Taylor has come into the family business and fills a major role as a trainer and as Barry's right hand man.
The Clemens family is so dedicated to providing all-around, top-quality service in cattle events, that when they started to look for a stallion, they wanted qualities and traits that would compliment the Working Cow Horse demand. Major Pepinic fit the bill. Though Major Pepinic was sold in 2005, Beaver Creek Ranch continues to his line with the same goals in mind. The proof of their breeding program is clearly evident in the many successes of his progeny.

Taylor is a confident horseman whose riding background began at a very young age. For many years, Taylor competed, successfully, as a youth showing in Western and English classes, jumping, and games. Taylor then ventured into the world of rodeo. He competed in calf roping, cutting and team roping as a member of the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association. During this period, he qualified many times for the National and Canadian finals. Upon completion of high school, Taylor decided to continue with his passion for horses. He spent time apprenticing to a successful cutting/cowhorse trainer and went on to prove his horses in various cutting/cowhorse events.
Taylor and Tegan have decided to continue sharing their knowledge of horses with others at Beaver Creek Horse Centre. Bar T2 provides all types of training:
rope horses
working cowhorse
pleasure
starting colts
